Understanding adoption
Understanding how adoption affects adopted children at infancy to adolescence involves many factors including how they see themselves and self-esteem “Adoption may make normal childhood issues of attachment, loss and self-image even more complex. Adopted children must come to terms with and integrate both their birth and adoptive families.” says a Paediatr Child Health article.
Adopted children are affected by their adoption throughout their lives but through developmental growth, the children can began to learn and understand their adoption.
